Anna is a graduate of Bratislava’s Academy of Perfoming Arts film school. Her camera work was praised at numerous award shows and festivals, she is a three times nominee at 2023, 2022 and 2021 Camerimage film festival in the Best Music video category for her work for artists Asgeir (“Snowblind”), Zef (“Už je čas”) and Katarzia (“Hoří i voda”). She is also two times winner of the Best Cinematography prize from Association of Slovak Cinematographers for her short documentaries in the series on Slovak architects “Ikony”. Anna is currently concentrating on commercials and music videos, working with  directors both in Prague and abroad. Her documentary feature film “The Killing of a Journalist” (dir. Matt Sarnecki) premiered at Hot Docs and Karlovy Vary film festival in 2022. Her first feature film “Němá tajemství” (The Exhale, dir. Tomáš Mašín) premiered in 2023 and competed in the Cinematographers’ Debuts competition at Camerimage film festival. Anna Smoroňová is a member of ASK (Association of Slovak Cinematographers).
