Currently based in Prague, Tomáš is a cinematographer with background in architecture and photography. During his studies at FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague), he collaborated on numerous short films that were awarded at festivals like Kamera Oko or Czech national film awards. His debut feature “Hore je nebo, v doline som ja” (Promise, I’ll Be Fine, dir. Katarína Gramatová) premiered in competition of the Tokyo International Film Festival and went on to be screened at over 15 other festivals, scoring an award for Best Cinematography at Giffoni film festival. His work on the feature was further praised at Czech film critics awards where he received an award for Best Audiovisual Achievement and he was nominated for Best Cinematography at Czech National film awards and Czech Cinematographers Association awards. He also worked on a documentary features “Moje nová tvář” (Is There Any Place for Me, Please?, dir. Jarmila Štuková, 2023) or “Aneta” (dir. Jiří Sádek, 2024). He is currently concentrating on commercial work, whilst staying true to his artistic vision. His collaborators include production companies like ProdCo, Riff Raff or Stink.
