David is a graduate of the cinematography department at FAMU. In his work, he focuses mainly on narrative work – his short film “One Hundred and Twenty-Eight Thousand” (dir. Ondřej Erban) was selected for the Cinéfondation competition at Cannes film festival and also won the Best Student film award at Czech Lions national film awards. In 2022, his first feature “Grand Prix” (dir. Jan Prušinovský) was released and he also collaborated on his first TV series – “Král Šumavy (King of Šumava Mountains)” directed by David Ondříček for Voyo platform. In 2024, his two feature films premiered at A-list festivals: “Blok 5” (dir. Klemen Dvornik) was presented in Locarno and “Mord” (dir. Adam Martinec) competed at Karlovy Vary IFF. He also collaborated on John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams series for Peacock. In 2025, he scored his first Czech Lion nomination for Best Cinematograpy on “Mord”. David’s portfolio includes over a hundred commercials and music videos. His work is often influenced by skate and street culture.
